First established in 1864, the Emu Hotel is rich in history and has been a part of the Morphett Vale community for the better part of two centuries. Fun Fact: the first original Emu Hotel was built that same year Morphett Vale was founded, 1840, and also acted as the town post office. Established in in an area prone to flooding, a little over 20 years later the pub was rebuilt on higher, had a second story added and remains there today.
With over 180 years under its belt, the Emu Hotel is part of the local history and continues to serve locals and visitors to the area. If only these walls could talk… Until then, we’ll be listening to stories and tales of the locals over a cold one.
