ALH Group South Australian venues have raised just shy of $50,000 in support of Minda, a South Australian disability support service.
Gold coins donations across 29 ALH South Australian venues have totalled to a $49,249.85 donation presented by ALH State Manager Andrew Gunn to Minda Incorporated.
The donation will support Minda's Variety House, allowing people with disability to gain independence.
Gunn said "[he] is pleased at the opportunity to be a corporate partner of Minda, and turn spare change into positive change by hosting coin collection units".
James Rodert, a 17 year-old with Down Syndrome, along with severe to moderate hearing loss and autism, is a resident at the Park Holme house. Through the support of Minda, James is able live medication-free with minimal support for daily tasks.
The Variety House also provides out-of-home support for young people, as well as ongoing respite to those who are unable to live permanently in their family home.
Future donations will go towards a major kitchen makeover and establishing a sensory garden and recreation area for the Park Holme residents.
